BULGARIA'S POSITION CONCERNING MACEDONIA UNCHANGED- KALFIN

BULGARIA'S POSITION CONCERNING MACEDONIA UNCHANGED- KALFIN

The position of Bulgaria concerning Macedonia remained unchanged, Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin said.
This position was based on a 1999 declaration in which the two countries agree to maintain good neighbourly relations without demonstrating bad intentions, mediapool.bg reported.
Kalfin said his previous statements were not something extraordinary. In a speech Kalfin said that Bulgaria's support for Macedonia's EU entry could not be unconditional. Macedonia had to demonstrate good neighbourly relations and the lack of aggression towards the Bulgarian history, said Kalfin.
The statement came to defend national interests, Kalfin said.
President Georgi Purvanov supported Kalfin. Bulgaria's support for Macedonia would depend on the tolerance of the country towards the Bulgarian history and the lack of negative attitude and aggression, said Purvanov.
